SUMMER CAMP STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPSMontrose County Residents, Ages 12 to 18 Once a year the Montrose Arts Council offers up to four camping scholarships for students talented in a field of art, be it performing or visual. These scholarships are available to students who are residents of Montrose County, ages 12 to 18, and will attend a summer training experience to benefit their talents. The award is based on the information submitted by the student on the application as well as a recommendation from their instructor. The usual award is $250 per student paid to them directly after we have received confirmation they have been accepted to a summer camp. Copies of the application may be made by individuals or by instructors to be distributed to the students they feel will qualify. The deadline for the application is May 15, 2010. Applications should be mailed to: Montrose Arts Council The Scholarship Committee will review the applications and contact all applicants as to whether or not they have been chosen. A check will be sent to students selected after they have provided Montrose Arts Council with a copy of the camp’s acceptance of their application. Each fall the Montrose Arts Council holds their annual membership meeting and honors the students that received the scholarships. As part of this gala event, the winners may be asked to share their experiences at camp. Parents of the students are also invited to this occasion. Details of this meeting will be given to students following the scholarship selections. If you have any questions, please call 240-0ART (240-0278) and leave a message or contact us by email at .
